If a longer commute to Melbourne’s city centre doesn’t bother you, than suburbs outside the inner city have some great options. Werribee is located almost halfway between Melbourne (34km) and Geelong (42km) and not far from Port Phillip Bay.

What is there to do in Werribee?
Werribee does provide a fair amount of recreational facilities. To keep the kids (big and small) entertained, Werribee Open Range Zoo is open daily from 9am. Around the same area is the restored Werribee Park Mansion with its formal gardens, the Victoria State Rose Garden, the National Equestrian Centre and Shadowfax Winery. There is also a formal garden surrounding a memorial for locals that served in war. There are a number of picnic areas running along the Werribee River, as well as a canoe launching deck at the Riverbend Historical Park.
Just south of the town’s centre, you will find Werribee South Beach. The area is great for a day out with the family fishing, boating, swimming, walking and cycling.
There are quite a few schools in the area, as well as sporting facilities. This means you don’t need to travel too far to cater for family requirements.
There are a number of developments on their way to the suburb. These include a cafe, pedestrian bridge, promenade, parkland and two commercial developments. There is also development happening at Wyndam Harbour Marina, which is 10kms out of the centre of Werribee.
