Facts about Chandler
Chandler is a relatively large, semi-rural eastern Brisbane suburb 16km both the city and the bay area of Redland Bay. Chandler is an extremely popular area for those looking to buy. With an average of 38 people looking per available property, it puts the suburb well above the average across Queensland.
Average property prices across Chandler are quite high, but despite this, it is a popular family suburb. The average sale price for a house is $1,260,000 while the average rental price is $750 per week. With many of these properties on acreage, and with an average of five bedrooms, as well as being within an easy commuting distance from the city, the prices do seem quite reasonable.
While there are a number of sporting and recreation facilities in the area, the major one is the Sleeman Sports Complex which plays host to a range of sports such as a BMX track, an aquatic centre, a velodrome, gymnastics, diving, weightlifting, fitness centre, indoor soccer, volleyball and martial arts amongst many others. Along with being a semi-rural area, you will also find a number of parks in the suburb some of which include a canoe facility, creek access, an equestrian trail and picnic areas.
While there are no schools in the suburbs, you will find primary and secondary schools in nearby suburbs as well as childcare centres. There are also a number of tertiary options nearby including TAFE campuses and university campuses in the city.
Even though the suburb feels like quite a rural area, it is only minutes from two fairly major shopping centres which offer a large number of facilities including banks and medical centres. For those who love getting outdoors on weekends, there are also a number of cafes and restaurants along the bay which are within an easy drive.
Chandler is a great suburb for those who just want to escape and have some space rather than feel rushed all the time.
