Facts about Cedar Creek
35km northwest of Brisbane lays the large semi-rural suburb of Cedar Creek. It is a high-demand area, popular with families. Average property prices sit at $586,000 and range from three to six-bedroom houses.
If you have school-age children you will find yourself travelling to the surrounding suburbs of Mount Sampson, Samford, Mt Nebo and Ferny Grove for school, both primary and secondary. For tertiary studies, you will find yourself travelling to Brisbane for universities or northern Brisbane suburbs for TAFE.
Cedar Creek is part of the Moreton Shire Council region, but due to the location of the suburb, there are few facilities available in the area. For a large number of facilities including shopping, swimming pools, libraries, sport and recreation you will need to travel to the nearby areas of Ferny Hills, Albany Creek or Chermside.
Despite living in a semi-rural area there is still a lot to do in and around the suburb. There are a small number of state forests and national parks with walking trails, parks, vineyards, a deer farm and creeks to discover. Lake Wivenhoe, Lake Samsonvale and Lake Atkinson all lay within a 2-hour drive of the suburb and offer a day out discovering the local area.
Cedar Creek is one of those suburbs where it is a little out of the way and you may have trouble getting mobile phone and internet reception. There is also the potential of flooding in heavy rain, so it is always best to check the local flood maps of where you are planning to buy. Despite this, it is a friendly suburb that welcomes new residents quite openly and where you will be made to feel part of a community.
If you are looking for a suburb with a rural feel, while still being a relatively decent distance from the required facilities, Cedar Creek may be a good option.
