Facts about Cambroon
Cambroon is a township in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland sitting behind Maleny and just south of Kenilworth. The western side of the suburb backs onto Imbil State Forest and Conondale National Park, with the suburb split by the Mary River.
Cambroon has an average market demand just slightly lower than the Queensland average; however, there isn’t always a lot of property available for sale. In 2013 there were very few properties sold with the average sale price at $213,000. Currently, there are a number of properties, both house and land, on the market with an average listing price of $630,000.
Cambroon is an hour’s drive to Maroochydore and Gympie offering opportunities for employment. Brisbane is almost a two-hour drive away.
With large houses and lots of land, Cambroon is perfect for families, or those looking for more space. If you are looking to move to an area with school-aged children, you will need to look at schools in the nearby towns of Kenilworth and Conondale for primary schools and perhaps further afield for secondary schools.
Nearby Conondale National Park provides a 35,500-hectare park filled with rare and threatened plants and animals as well as forests, gorges, walking tracks, drives and campsites near rainforests and streams that come down the mountain. The park also has a 56km full four-day circuit walk as well as half-day walks through ancient rainforest, waterfalls, clear creeks, open forest and lookouts.
As part of the Mary Valley (although under the Sunshine Coast Regional Council), many of the towns were once part of the Queensland timber industry, and many of the towns offer shops and other facilities to residents of the area. There is a library at nearby Kenilworth, BBQ and picnic areas, the Kenilworth Town Park, a skate park and a pool at both Conondale and Kenilworth.
Cambroon is a great town for those who love the outdoors and want to come home to the quietness that a rural area offers.
