Facts about Burpengary East
Burpengary East falls under the main suburb of Burpengary and takes in a small component of the suburb in the southeastern corner. This area is made up of residential and commercial areas and in past years the local council has done some study into opening up the area to more residential and commercial developments. Burpengary East is a mixture of old and newer properties and has a slight semi-rural feel with houses built on relatively large land parcels. There has been a large number of land parcels sold this year alone with an average price of $460,186.
There aren’t too many facilities on the eastern side of the highway as yet; however, it is only a short drive to shops, schools, the local library, and the Burpengary train station. There is also access to both the north and southbound lanes of the Bruce Highway making it easy to head either south to Brisbane or north to the Sunshine Coast (45-minute drive to the north).
The local council and local businesses offer a large number of facilities to those living within the region. Apart from the usual libraries and community centres, there are also a number of BMX tracks and skate parks, the Caboolture Region Environment Education Centre, arts centres and galleries as well as a large number of adventure activities such as skydiving and skirmish.
One thing to keep an eye on in the Burpengary East area is flooding from Burpengary Creek. In times of high rainfall, Burpengary Creek can rise quite quickly. If you are planning on living in proximity to the creek, be sure to check local flood maps with the Moreton Bay Regional Council office.
Burpengary East would be a great suburb for those looking for a parcel of land to build their dream home or just looking for a house with a good-sized backyard for the kids and pets.
