Calamvale is a suburb on the southern side of Brisbane, located 20km south of the city, and only a short drive from both the Gateway Motorway and the Logan Motorway. It is one of the most populated Brisbane suburbs and is also a fairly multicultural suburb with residents coming from Australia, China, New Zealand, Taiwan, India and Hong Kong. The suburb was originally named after James Calam who was one of the first landowners and settlers.
