Facts about Armstrong Creek
In the sought-after suburb of Armstrong Creek, it’s hard to find a home. There are a small number of four-bedroom properties for sale with an average sale price of $936,000. Rental properties are even harder to come by. There have been less than 10 property sales and less than 10 rentals in the past year. When properties do come to the market, there is an average of 37 people looking at each property compared to the average of 13 across Queensland.
Armstrong Creek is located in the Moreton Shire, 42 km northwest of Brisbane’s CBD. It is a larger semi-rural suburb with many properties located on acreage. State forest lines one side of the suburb, while the other runs alongside the North Pine River. For those looking to live in the area with children, there are no schools in the suburb. The closest primary school is 10km away and the closest high school is around 25km away. There are also minimal sporting clubs in the suburb, but nearby suburbs are host to sports clubs and recreation facilities including football, an equestrian centre, archery, a pony club and a skirmish centre.
For weekends out, it is only 21km to Lake Samsonvale (North Pine Dam) which is home to the Lake Samsonvale Water Sports Association. There are some picnic facilities available, however, due to its use as a water storage facility, recreational activities such as swimming and boating are prohibited. For a weekend away, it is 80km to Lake Wivenhoe, where there are picnic spots, playgrounds, a designated swimming spot, and specified fishing sports (a permit is required), as is a boat permit for any boating activities. There are also campgrounds catering for tents, caravans and camper trailers. Mt Glorious is also close by, a small village with a national park offering walking tracks.
Armstrong Creek is close to the bigger centres of Petrie and North Lakes, so while you may be in a rural area, you still have access to everything you need.
