Removalists Prospect

Located 32km west of Sydney’s CBD, Prospect is home to the latest edition to Australia’s theme parks – Sydney’s Wet & Wild which opened in late 2013.

Prospect is a relatively affordable family area, however if you are looking to buy or rent a unit you may have a little trouble. There have been less than 10 unit sales and 10 unit rental listings in the past 12 months. A three bedroom house will put you back an average $463,000 or $400 per week as a rental.

While affordable, Prospect is not a suburb to live if you want a quick commute into the city. It is at least an hour drive into the CBD during peak hour, and just over an hour on public transport using a mixture of train and bus. It is however, only a short drive to both Blacktown and Parramatta, which makes it a great suburb for those who work in the Western Suburbs of Sydney. There are a number of schools in the surrounding suburbs and a small number of shopping centres within easy reach.

Prospect and surrounding suburbs have a lot of activities that locals can get involved with. Apart from Wet and Wild, the suburb is also close to Eastern Creek Raceway, four major parklands and reserves, public swimming pools, Blacktown International Sports Park, Blacktown Arts Centre, and libraries.

The local council (Blacktown City Council) has set up sister city relationships with five cities across the globe – Porirua, New Zealand formalised in May 1984; Suseong Gu – Daegu City, South Korea; Liaocheng, China formalised in October 2003; Liverpool Plains, North West NSW formed in June 200; and Mandaluyong City, Philippines formed in June 2010. These relationships provide opportunities to residents and school aged children throughout the council area.

The one major piece of development in the area is the on again off again planning of an airport at Badgery’s Creek. While a 30 minute drive from Prospect, there is potential the suburb could be in the flight path.
