Removalists Dee Why

Considered to be one of the main centres of the Northern Beaches region, Dee Why is located 20 km north east of Sydney’s CBD. With 1.2km of beach front, as well as a large lagoon, picnic areas, pathways and lookouts, Dee Why is a great spot for those who love the coastal lifestyle.

There are two public primary schools in the suburb, as well as a Catholic primary school and a K-12 Anglican school with public high schools in surrounding suburbs. Dee Why is approximately 20km from The University of Sydney and the University of Technology and 25km from the University of NSW.

There are quite a few options for recreation in Dee Why including the Stony Range Botanic Garden, which was established on the site of an old quarry and contains plants from all over Australia, as well as plants indigenous to the area; the Federation Cascades (located inside the Botanic Gardens); Ted Jackson Reserve with picnic areas, walking paths, seawall, look outs and a war memorial; playgrounds; ocean pools; and surf club. There are also a number of sporting clubs in the suburb including rugby union, soccer and the Dee Why Surfing Fraternity, one of Australia’s oldest boardriders club.

Dee Why and surrounds are fairly multi-denominational with churches catering to a number of religions including Methodist, Uniting, Anglican, Catholic, Baptist and Jehovah’s Witness as well as a mosque.

Property prices in the suburb are to be expected for a Northern Beaches suburb. A four bedroom house sells for an average of $995,000 and rents for an average of $900 per week. A three bedroom unit will cost an average of $721,000 and rent for an average of $690 per week. Despite the higher prices, Dee Why is a suburb in demand.

For those who commute to the city, you can expect an average commute time of an hour via bus and car and a trip to the airport will take you just over an hour on a good day.

If you have the money, and want beachside living with lots of outside recreation areas, this might be a suburb for you.
