Removalists Bungalora

Bungalora is a delightful little rural village set in the Tweed Shire, sitting west of the Pacific Highway behind Terranora. There have been very few properties sell in past years, with the most recent sale in 2010. In the past ten years there have been 11 properties sold with an average price of $803,863. This is the kind of area that people settle in for life.

The closest main town to Bungalora is 15km to the north at Tweed Heads, although there are smaller centres at Terranora, Kingscliff and Banora Point which offer a range of services including schools, shopping centres, cafes and sports associations.

The area around Bungalora has a history in the timber industry as well as in agricultural and farming. The logging industry opened up the dense rainforests in the area, allowing development to proceed. In 1885 the arrival of the telegraph saw the arrival of telegraph offices and post offices in some of the small villages in the area. Today, there is a large farming and cane growing industry in the surrounding villages and towns.

Bungalora is a great suburb for those wanting rural living while still being close to both the coast and the national parks; a 20km drive to the east will see you at the beachside suburb of Kingscliff while in less than two hours you could be walking through a range of national parks and state forests. It is also only a short drive to Tumbulgum where you can launch a boat into the Tweed River and enjoy a day out on the water.

As part of the Tweed Shire Council area, you can enjoy some of the many facilities and services offered by the council including swimming pools, art galleries, libraries, parks and community group facilities.

While properties don’t come up very often in Bungalora, if you can manage to get your hands on one, you will find a village with all that rural living offers.
