In a suburb that’s less than 5km from Scarborough beach, you would be expecting higher than average property prices. Yet, Doubleview is relatively affordable. The average price of a three bedroom house is $715,000 or $550 per week for a three bedroom rental. For a three bedroom unit, you can expect an average of $567,000 or $650 per week for a three bedroom rental. Doubleview is quite a high demand area at 3.2 times the average WA demand.

Housing is a mixture of traditional single-story brick houses on decent size blocks. There have recently been developments of two-storey houses and townhouses on smaller blocks. There is still some vacant land in the area.

The suburb takes its name due to the views possible of the Indian Ocean to the west, and the Perth CBD and Darling Range to the east. It is predominately a residential area, next to the beachside suburb of Scarborough. Scarborough Beach Road (a busy main road) runs through the suburb.

There is only one state primary school in the suburb, with two other schools in nearby suburbs. There are no state high schools in the area however there are three within each reach. There is also a private boys school and a Catholic primary school close by.

There aren’t a lot of sporting associations in the suburb itself; however, surrounding suburbs do have various sports available. In nearby Scarborough there is a Police and Citizens Youth Club, which acts as a function centre, indoor sports centre as well as frequently holding discos for children in the local area.

At 13kms from the city, commute would be via private car or bus, with no trains running from the suburb. At approximately 30kms to the airport and 5kms to the closest Westfield shopping centre, Doubleview offers a good mix of housing options and facilities for all ages.
